On July 31, 2025, the US CPSC, Health Canada, and Mexico announced a recall of magnetic toy products manufactured in China.
The products subject to this recall are Tegu magnetic levitation stacking toys. The product models are STA-BGY-801T and STA-BTP-806T, consisting of a wooden base, six stacking pieces in different colors, two columns, and two figurines on top, with all pieces connected by magnets. There are no markings on the product.
The product does not comply with mandatory standards for toy magnets and contains magnets that may become loose and detach from the toy, posing a risk of ingestion by children. If a child swallows a powerful magnet, the magnets may attract each other within the digestive system or attract other metal objects, causing them to become lodged in the digestive tract. This may result in intestinal perforation, twisting, and/or blockage, infection, blood poisoning, or even death.

The recalled products were sold in the United States and Canada between August 2018 and April 2025. Approximately 22,850 units were sold in the United States, 1,977 in Canada, and 190 in Mexico, with an average retail price of approximately $40.
To date, 31 reports of toy detachment have been received, with no reports of injuries.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and Health Canada recommend that consumers immediately stop using the product and contact Tegu for a free replacement.
