Suitable For 3mm Motor Shaft Multipole Magnet Ring

The 3mm motor shaft is a common shaft diameter in micro motors and small brushless motors. In Hall encoders, magnetic encoders, FOC brushless motors, and speed measurement systems, multi pole magnetic rings are often used in conjunction. Today, we recommend some 3mm hole multi pole magnetic ring sizes.

Based on current application experience in the motor and magnetic encoder industry, multipole magnetic rings suitable for 3mm motor shafts have an outer diameter of 6mm-12mm. The inner hole of the magnetic ring is usually slightly larger than the 3mm shaft diameter to facilitate assembly. In actual design, it is generally controlled at about 3.02-3.1mm, and the final tolerance is determined based on interference fit, adhesive or press fit methods.

If the installation space is limited, it is recommended to choose small-sized magnetic rings with an outer diameter of 6-7mm, which can meet the speed measurement needs of most micro motors. If higher angular resolution is required, magnetic rings with an outer diameter of 8-12mm can be selected, and the number of magnetic poles can be increased to enable Hall chips or magnetic encoders to obtain more stable and precise magnetic field signals. For ordinary speed measurement applications, 4-pole or 6-pole is sufficient to meet the requirements. In high-precision applications such as encoders and motor closed-loop control, more poles are required.

Suitable For 3mm Motor Shaft Multipole Magnet Ring

In terms of material selection, if the working environment temperature is high or cost is sensitive, sintered ferrite multipole magnetic rings or injection molded ferrite multipole magnetic rings can be used. If a stronger magnetic field and smaller volume are required, it is recommended to use bonded neodymium iron boron multipole magnetic rings and injection molded neodymium iron boron multipole magnetic rings.
