June has passed. How did China's rare earth permanent magnet exports fare this month? Did they increase or decrease? Which countries were the main export destinations? Let's take a look at the details below.
In June 2025, the top three export destinations for Chinese rare earth permanent magnets were Germany, the United States, and Vietnam.
Exports to Germany
In June 2025, China exported 764.45 metric tons of rare earth permanent magnets to Germany, a decrease of 25.10% from 1,020.62 metric tons in the same period last year, but a significant increase of 266.49% from 208.59 metric tons in the previous month. This change indicates that while demand in the German market has decreased, export volumes have shown a significant recovery compared to the recent low point. The average export price was USD 45,336.19 per metric ton, a slight decrease of 3.13% from the USD 46,799.79 per metric ton recorded in the same period last year, but a slight increase of 0.46% from the USD 45,127.94 per metric ton recorded in the previous month.

Exports to the United States
In June 2025, China exported 352.80 metric tons of rare earth permanent magnets to the United States, a significant decrease of 51.66% from the 729.88 metric tons exported during the same period last year. However, compared to the previous month, exports increased significantly by 659.72% from 46.44 metric tons. This fluctuation reflects the significant volatility in U.S. market demand.
In terms of average export prices, the average price of rare earth permanent magnets exported from China to the United States was USD 45,577.21 per metric ton, an increase of 7.69% from the USD 42,321.81 per metric ton recorded in the same period last year. However, compared to the previous month's average price of USD 52,188.18 per metric ton, there was a decrease of 12.67%.
Exports to Vietnam
China's exports of rare earth permanent magnets to Vietnam totaled 340.31 metric tons, a decrease of 17.05% from the 410.25 metric tons exported during the same period last year. However, this represents a 44.80% increase from the previous month's 235.01 metric tons. This indicates a recovery in demand in the Vietnamese market, particularly in certain manufacturing sectors where demand for rare earth permanent magnets has grown.
The average export price was USD 68,150.53 per metric ton, a decrease of 4.73% from USD 71,539.06 per metric ton in the same period last year, and a slight decline compared to USD 71,621.71 per metric ton in the previous month.
