An arc-shaped motor magnet is a permanent magnet specifically designed for the internal structure of a motor. It is curved in an arc shape to fit the circumferential shape of the inner wall of the motor stator or rotor. This design enhances spatial utilization, motor efficiency, and magnetic field distribution, making it widely used in permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSM), brushless DC motors (BLDC), wind turbines, electric tool motors, and electric vehicle drive motors.

Main materials used for curved motor magnets:

Currently, ferrite and neodymium are the most commonly used materials. Neodymium is suitable for high-efficiency, high-speed motors and requires a high temperature resistance rating to withstand high-temperature environments, such as N48SH and N45UH. Ferrite is suitable for cost-sensitive products such as household appliance fans and ordinary motors, with grades generally selected as Y30BH and Y35.

Curved motor magnet selection;

Alternative solutions for curved motor magnets;

Material substitution: For applications with low magnetic performance requirements and strict cost constraints, such as floor fan motors and water pump motors, ferrite materials can be used as a substitute for neodymium. For motors that prioritize high power density, low noise, and high efficiency, ferrite can be replaced with neodymium.


Shape Substitution: For example, using sector-shaped (wedge-shaped) or bread-shaped magnets to replace arc-shaped magnets, rectangular magnets to replace arc-shaped magnets, or multi-pole magnetized ring-shaped magnets to replace individual arc-shaped magnets.
