Neodymium magnets are highly popular in the market due to their strong magnetic force and ease of processing. Many people believe that neodymium magnets of any specification can be manufactured, but this is not actually the case.
In most cases, neodymium magnets can be customized to meet customer specifications and shapes. However, there are exceptions, such as the following five scenarios where customization is not possible.
Custom shaped small sized curved neodymium magnets

1. Dimensions Exceeding Material Physical Limits
Includes extremely thin dimensions, such as thicknesses below 0.2mm, with extremely low yield rates. Oversized dimensions, several hundred millimeters, are also unfeasible.
2. Tolerance Requirements Exceeding Manufacturing Capabilities
For example, thickness or outer diameter tolerances of ±0.005mm. Magnets are not precision shaft components but brittle powder metallurgy materials.
3. Violation of Magnetic Property Laws
Demands stronger magnetic field intensity at the center than at the poles (contradicting magnetic field distribution principles), or requires permanent magnetism retention beyond rated temperature limits.
4. Impossible Special Magnetization Methods
For instance, requiring complex multipolar high-precision magnetization on extremely small magnets.
5. Excessively Complex Magnet Shapes
While neodymium magnets can be processed into special shapes without molds, overly complex designs remain unfeasible.
The above covers whether powerful magnets can be customized. If you have specific size requirements, we recommend communicating with the manufacturer during the design phase to ensure the project is successfully implemented.
