Three Common Types of Arc Magnet Grinding Machine Processing

Tile shaped magnets, also known as arc magnets or magnetic tiles, often require grinding during the manufacturing process because their dimensions and surface finish do not yet meet assembly requirements. Common grinding equipment for magnetic tiles can generally be divided into the following three types.

I. Simple Grinding Machines

Simple grinding machines are relatively basic machining tools commonly used in small-batch production or for prototyping. Most of these machines require manual loading and unloading, feature a simple design, and are relatively inexpensive. During machining, dimensions are typically adjusted manually by the operator, so they require a high level of operator experience. They are suitable for machining wafer-shaped magnets with modest dimensional tolerances and in small quantities.

II. Single-Station Grinding Machines

Single-station grinding machines are currently one of the most common types of equipment used for processing magnetic tiles. Compared to simple grinding machines, they offer a higher degree of automation. They typically employ a fixed-station machining method, allowing for the precision grinding of inner circles, outer circles, or end faces in a single setup, resulting in significantly more consistent machining accuracy.

III. Through-feed Grinding Machines

Through-feed grinding machines are among the most highly automated types of equipment for processing magnetic plates and are primarily used for high-volume production. Using a form grinding process, they automatically and continuously machine six surfaces—including the bottom, sides, and inner and outer curved surfaces—in a single pass, achieving the required shape and dimensional accuracy. Currently, many large magnet manufacturers utilize through-feed grinding machines for high-volume orders.

The above is an introduction to three types of grinding processes for tile-shaped magnets. Our company provides a wide range of arc-shaped permanent magnets in various specifications, performances, and temperature resistances to our motor customers all year round. Customers in need are welcome to inquire with drawings or samples.
