There are many types of magnets, some of which have been introduced in previous articles. Today, we will introduce the hole-drilled cube magnet.
Cube magnet with holes is, simply put, a cube magnet with holes drilled into its surface. It is typically made of neodymium rare earth material, though other materials are also available; however, neodymium-iron-boron is currently the most widely used on the market.
The key advantage of cube magnets with holes is their ease of installation and secure hold. Unlike standard magnets, which can only be attached with adhesive, these magnets can be secured directly using screws, metal rods, or plastic rods, making them ideal for long-term use and environments subject to vibration. The hole design also allows for repeated assembly and disassembly, facilitating equipment maintenance and replacement.

Now let’s talk about the holes. The holes in cube magnets with holes are typically standard through-holes, unlike square magnets with holes, which mainly feature countersunk holes. As for the number of holes, there is usually just one, as that is sufficient. Of course, two holes can also be machined, depending on the size of the magnet and your specific requirements.
The primary functions of perforated cube magnets are to attract, secure, position, and connect objects. In automated equipment, they are frequently used in mechanical fixtures and for magnetic positioning, as they remain secure once attached and are unlikely to come loose. In the home furnishings industry, perforated cube magnets are also used for magnetic cabinet door closures, hidden door stops, and display cabinet fasteners, as they are easy to install and simple to remove for maintenance. These magnets are also found in products such as robots, unmanned devices, industrial tool racks, and advertising display stands. For equipment operating in environments subject to prolonged vibration, this perforated design is preferred due to its superior stability compared to standard adhesive magnets.
Since the specific applications vary by customer, the dimensions, performance, temperature resistance, coatings, and hole patterns of these magnets will also differ. Therefore, these magnets are primarily custom-made. If you are interested in purchasing such magnets, please feel free to send us an inquiry.
