BH Curve and Applications of Neodymium Magnet N48SH Grade

Neodymium magnets (NdFeB) of the N48SH grade are high-performance permanent magnet materials with excellent temperature resistance, suitable for use at high temperatures (up to 150°C). Below, we will introduce them from two aspects: BH curve (hysteresis loop) analysis and actual application cases.

The accompanying figure shows the BH curve of a neodymium N48SH magnet.

Typical practical applications of N48SH neodymium magnets;

1. In industrial motors and servo motors, internal temperatures often reach 120°C or higher. If ordinary M or H grades are used, demagnetization can easily occur. However, N48SH can operate stably at temperatures below 150°C while maintaining magnetic force and efficiency.

2. New energy drive motors generally use higher grades (such as UH, EH, AH), but N48SH is suitable for auxiliary components such as water pump motors and small fans. Its high remanence and temperature resistance ensure small size and high efficiency.

3. The N48SH grade is also commonly used in model aircraft motors and brushless fans to prevent demagnetization of ordinary neodymium iron boron magnets, thereby improving safety and durability.

4. N48SH magnets can be used in magnetic suction and fixing devices that operate near heat sources (such as hot processing machinery) to ensure that the holding force does not weaken over time.

Magnets come in many shapes. Common shapes for N48SH neodymium magnets include discs, cubes, rings, and arcs, which are widely used in high-temperature motors and industrial equipment.
