More stator magnetic poles there are, the slower the magnetic field speed

The more magnetic poles in the stator, the slower the magnetic speed? What is the rationale for this, today permanent magnet manufacturers Karachi small Fu organized the online information to reply to this question.

In order to illustrate the problem in a simple and clear way, we now imagine that the stator of the motor can be uniformly compressed, that is, the above figure from the junction of the N and S poles cut, uniformly compressed, can be compressed into a half garden. Note that the windings in the stator core (aka the circuit) are not broken, just uniformly compressed. If you use two identical two-pole motors and make this compression, you will get two half-circle two-pole stators, see below:

Schematic diagram of magnetic poles

Schematic diagram of magnetic poles

Then, the two halves of the garden stator are combined to naturally form a full-circle four-pole stator. Because the winding arrangement is still the original way, the circuit is not broken, then, after energizing each pole area of the N, S pole is still followed by the power frequency changes once a week, 50 times a second. It is not difficult to see that, together the entire magnetic field, that is, the magnetic field of the four poles, in order to turn a full circle, each pole area of the N, S must be changed twice, that is, N to S, and then from S to N, in order to turn a full circle. As shown by the small arrows in the diagram on the right, turning clockwise, it would take N to S and then S to N to be a full turn.

Obviously, together after the four-pole magnetic field, to turn a circle, the power supply is to change twice. That is to say, the frequency 50Hz, the synthesized magnetic field to turn 50 times, the power supply needs to change 100 times, the time will take 2 seconds. It can be seen that the synthesized four-pole magnetic field speed than the original two-pole when the speed is reduced by a factor of two, that is, 1500 rpm. From the diagram, the reasoning is that simple.

If it is a six-pole motor, it will be compressed with three two-pole motors, each of which is uniformly compressed to 120 degrees, and then the three are combined to form a synthesized 360-degree stator core. And the synthesized six-pole stator magnetic field, its speed will be reduced to one-third of the original two-pole magnetic field. That is, after the synthesis of the six-pole stator magnetic field to turn a circle, the power supply must change three times. Synthesized six-pole stator magnetic field to turn 50 times, the power supply must change 150 times, the time will take 3 seconds. Obviously, under the industrial frequency power supply, the speed of the six-pole magnetic field to be reduced to one-third of the speed of the two-pole magnetic field.

By analogy, it can be concluded that the above formula, the speed of the motor magnetic field is inversely proportional to the number of its magnetic poles. For motors with the same power and different numbers of poles, the higher the number of pole pairs, the lower the rotational speed, the larger the size, but the higher the output torque. The lower the number of pole pairs, the higher the speed, the smaller the size, but the output torque is also small.

The above is the explanation of this problem, our company has been providing motor stator & rotor magnets for a long time, please contact us if you need to know the price or consult the samples.
