High-speed motors usually refer to motors with speeds greater than 10,000 rpm (revolutions per minute), and are more commonly used in spindle motors, centrifuges, fly-by-wire motors, vacuum cleaner motors, hair dryer motors, etc. Today, we will focus on the magnets for their applications, including characteristics, shapes, and mounting.
Main features (characteristics) of high speed motor magnets
1. Usually neodymium iron boron permanent magnet materials are used, with a magnetic energy product of up to 40-54 MGOe.
2. Excellent demagnetization resistance, adaptable to high-speed operation environment, temperature resistance class H (120℃) or above.
3. High dimensional accuracy and good surface finish.

Shapes of High Speed Motor Magnets
Ring, hollow cylindrical, and curved (segmented) magnets, rhombic magnet are more common and must be fitted precisely to the rotor.
Several mounting options for high-speed motor magnets
Bonding fixing (commonly used epoxy adhesive or high strength structural adhesive)
Casing wrapping (e.g. carbon fiber/stainless steel/aluminum casing)
Magnet pre-pressing into slot (with positioning slot structure)
The most recommended method is to try to use the mechanical structure of the main fixing, adhesive fixing method; First: can reduce costs, eliminating the cost of glue and gluing equipment; Second: can reduce the risk of failure, the bonding strength of the glue is affected by a number of factors and does not have the probability of detection. Thirdly, there is a risk of aging of the glue, which affects the service life of the motor.
