Ring magnets, needless to say, some customers also call this magnet for the round magnet with holes, are available, in order for you to better choose, install the use of this magnet, I organized a 10-point practical advice.
1. Select magnet material according to the application scenarios
If you pursue high magnetic force, choose NdFeB material. If you need high temperature resistance, low cost, give priority to ferrite. For high temperature and magnetic force, you can consider neodymium or samarium cobalt material.

2. Don't get the direction of magnetization wrong
The axial, or thickness magnetization has a strong magnetic surface in 2 planes, i.e. top and bottom. Radial magnetization has the strong magnetic surface on the side and is mostly used in rotary sensors, encoders or motors.

3. Determine the hole size according to the installation method
The size of the center hole usually needs to be matched with the shaft diameter or fixing screws, large size is easy to loosen, the size is small, the set does not go in, the tolerance of the high requirements need special instructions.
4. Don't be careless about size tolerances
The inner diameter, outer diameter, and thickness of ring magnets need to have clear tolerances, especially when automated assembly or mating with precision parts, and the machining capability needs to be confirmed with the supplier.
5. Choose suitable coating protection
NdFeB magnets are easy to rust, you should choose the suitable surface treatment before use, the requirements are not high can be galvanized, higher requirements can be nickel-plated or epoxy.

6. Avoid impact or falling
Regardless of the material of the ring-shaped permanent magnet, they are relatively brittle and prone to breakage upon impact or drop. If necessary, a plastic layer can be wrapped around the magnet for protection.
7. Thickness issue
The thickness of the ring magnet can be processed into thin or thick according to requirements. Thicker magnets have stronger magnetic force and are relatively less prone to breakage, and their temperature resistance is also better. Thinner magnetic forces are slightly weaker, have poorer temperature resistance, and are more prone to cracking.
8. Attention to magnetic field interference
The magnetic field generated by the ring magnet may interfere with the surrounding electronic components, especially the large ring magnet, it is recommended to shield or maintain an appropriate distance.
9. Sample verification before mass production
It is recommended to make samples to test the magnetic force and stability of use for the first time development project, to avoid affecting the performance of the product due to the neglect of magnetic flux density or adsorption problems.
10. Compare several magnet suppliers
In addition to price, it is also important to look at the strength of the supplier, including customized services, delivery time, payment methods, product certification reports, to reduce the risk of quality at a later stage.
