Figure of Rare Earth Exports in China by Month in the First Half of 2023

Time to August, and is about to pass, the first half of 2023 China's rare earth exports in each month how it is, mainly exported to which regions of the country? Today I take you to understand.

In the first half of 2023, China's economy as a whole rebounded, and the import and export trade of rare earth and rare earth magnetic materials continued to develop well. According to the statistics of the General Administration of Customs, in the first half of the year, China imported and exported a total of 148700 tons of rare earth and rare earth magnetic materials, a month on month increase of 29.0%, generating a trade volume of 25.54 billion yuan, a month on month increase of 4.8%.

In the first half of the year, the export of all kinds of rare earth commodities 25,996.1 tons, an increase of 15.5%, slightly lower than the level of the same period last year. In addition to February, the monthly export volume gap is not large, basically maintained at 4500-5000 tons per month. However, affected by the continued decline in rare earth prices, rare earth exports continued to decline, the first half of the total exports amounted to 3.12 billion yuan, a decrease of 12.6% sequentially, down 11.9% year-on-year.

Rare earth export trading partners, mainly for the United States, Japan, the European Union, the first half of the combined exports accounted for more than 60%. At the same time, rare earth commodities exported to China and Taiwan increased by 2,642.9 tons from the previous year, and the export share increased from 4.3% to 14.2%. Mixed chlorinated rare earths, unlisted oxidized rare earths, other rare earths in carbonic acid, other compounds of cerium, lanthanum oxide, etc. are the main commodities exported to China and Taiwan.
